This month has been shaped by connection - the kind that nourishes quietly and lingers long after the moment has passed. I spent five days at home for Chinese New Year, a timely escape that coincided with half-term and the chaos of renovations (my kitchen was being ripped out, plastered, and re-floored - impeccable timing!). Being home reminded me how deeply grounding our traditions are. The familiar rhythms of meals, rituals, and shared stories always bring me back to my family. Alongside the celebrations, I’ve also been reconnecting with people in other ways - online meet-ups with colleagues I trained with, and in-person catch-ups with friends I hadn’t seen in a while. My work is meaningful but often solitary, so these moments of connection feel like nourishment. They’re also a reminder that we never quite know where a conversation, a reconnection, or a shared cup of tea might lead. There is something quietly magical about staying open to the people who cross our paths. These moments of (re)connection have been the quiet backdrop to everything else unfolding this month.
